Blue Bay LPGA Round 1

Mary Liu, Weiwei Zhang, and Youmin Hwang share a one-stroke lead after a scintillating opening round at the 2026 Blue Bay LPGA. All three co-leaders carded impressive 6-under-par 66s to set the early benchmark at Jian Lake. Zhang, a local Hainan resident, utilized her course knowledge to highlight her day with a spectacular eagle on the 8th hole, while South Korean rookie Hwang posted a flawless, bogey-free card to continue her remarkably consistent start to her debut season. The chasing pack is tightly bunched, with Auston Kim, Zining An, and Mi Hyang Lee sitting just one shot back at 5-under par. Home favorite Ruoning Yin also stayed well in the hunt, carding a steady 4-under 68 to sit in a tie for seventh alongside India’s Aditi Ashok and Yu Liu. The day's highlights included Emma McMyler putting on a strong showing for the American contingent with a 68, while several of the tour’s top seeds found themselves navigating a course that became increasingly firm as the afternoon sun baked the greens.
