PGA Championship Round 2

The legendary layout of Aronimink Golf Club showed its major championship teeth during a demanding second round, reshaping the upper echelon of the leaderboard into a tightly packed battleground of patience and strategic recovery. Demonstrating spectacular composure amid tightening course conditions, world number one Scottie Scheffler carded a highly efficient under-par loop to successfully maintain his position at the summit of the standings. Scheffler’s exceptional precision with his iron play allowed him to systematically protect his advantage as the putting surfaces became significantly faster under the afternoon sun. He found himself locked at the top alongside a brilliant Xander Schauffele, who put together an error-free display of ball-striking to surge into a direct share of the lead. Right on their heels, a formidable chasing pack consolidated its position, featuring major champions Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, and Jordan Spieth, all showcasing masterclass short games to keep the pressure at a maximum. Meanwhile, opening-day co-leader Alex Smalley weathered a handful of back-nine errors to remain well within striking distance, while international standouts Stephan Jaeger, Min Woo Lee, and Ryo Hisatsune managed their game plans efficiently to stay right in the thick of the major conversation heading into the weekend.
